Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District
Description
The Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District is responsible for monitoring air quality, reducing air pollution, enforcing air quality regulations, and meeting statewide carbon reduction goals. The District develops and administers programs to reduce air pollution levels below the health-based standards established by the state and federal governments and improve air quality in our region. The District is a leader in implementing innovative incentive programs that help businesses, schools districts, government agencies and individuals reduce air pollution by purchasing zero or near zero emission vehicles or making these cleaner air vehicles accessible to underserved communities. In addition to various residential and business incentive programs, the District also manages the Sacramento Region Spare The Air campaign and implements the annual Check Before You Burn program.
